The married screenwriting duo sign a note in blue ink on a 5¼x6½ piece of paper.
Autograph Note signed: "For Elia/with fondest/best wishes/Henry & Phoebe/Aug 15, 1962." in blue ink, 5¼x6½. Writers Phoebe (1914-1971) and Henry Ephron (1912-1992) were married and worked in Hollywood together from the 1940's to the 1960's. Phoebe, a playwright and screenwriter, wrote several memorable screenplays including Bride by Mistake (1944), Belles on Their Toes (1952), Carousel (1956), Desk Set (1957) and There's No Business Like Show Business (1961). Henry co-wrote many of her screenplays, as well producing Carousel (1956) and Desk Set (1957). She and Henry both worked on the screenplay for Captain Newman M.D. (1963), which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium. Their daughters, Nora, Delia and Amy Ephron all became writers. Fine condition.
