Admission ticket for the Shubert Organizations official opening night celebration for the Broadway play, Children of a Lesser God, Sunday, March 30, 1980, immediately after the performance. Ink stamp ticket number 180. Deaf actress Phyllis Frelich (1944-2014) won the Tony award for Best Actress in Children of a Lesser God, a play which its author, Mark Medoff, said was inspired by Frelich's life. The play ran for 887 performances, through May 16, 1982. Marlee Matlin later won an Oscar for the same role on film. Frelich's husband, Robert Steinberg, understudied the co-starring role in the play, and later filled it as a replacement, opposite his wife. Light stain in lower right corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
