Phyllis Sellick (1911-2007)) was a British pianist. Something of a prodigy, Sellick began
playing the piano by ear at three. But she's best known for her partnership with husband
Cyril Smith, whom she married in 1937 and began performing with four years later. They
continued playing together even after Smith lost the use of his left hand; they just switched to
pieces specially designed to be played with three hands, rather than four. After Smith's death,
Sellick taught at the Royal College of Music in London, Great Britain until the 1990s.
Lightly soiled and creased. Upper left corner is missing. Rounded corners. Otherwise, fine
condition.
