PIERCE ALLMAN
Rare signature from the news reporter who witnessed Kennedy's death and later unknowingly asked Lee Harvey Oswald where he could find a phone to report the President's death. Allman has added the date of the assassination beneath his signature
Inscribed signature: "To: Robert/Pierce Allman/11/22/1963", in black ink, 5x3. Pierce Allman (b. 1939) was working as the manager of programming and production at WFAA radio in Dallas in 1963. On the afternoon of November 22, Allman took a break from work to go watch a parade honoring President Kennedy's arrival to Dallas, and ultimately became one of the many witness to the President's assassination. After the President was shot, Allman rushed to a phone, ultimately asking Lee Harvey Oswald where he could find a phone. Allman than contacted the local news, becoming one of the first to report on the President's assassination. Weeks later, the Secret Service would question Allman, informing him that he had asked the President's accused assassinator where the phone was on that day. His accounts helped in convicting Lee Harvey Oswald of the President's murder, though these efforts were in vain - Lee Harvey Oswald was also shot, on November 24, by nightclub operator Jack Ruby. Fine condition.
