Pierre" Hamel (b.1952) is a retired Canadian goaltender who played four
seasons in the NHL between 1974 and 1981 with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the
Winnipeg Jets. After he was drafted by Toronto in 1974, Hamel played only
one season before he went to play with the Oklahoma City Blazers of the
Central Hockey League (CHL). Along with the Blazers, Hamel played for the
Dallas Black Hawks and later the Tulsa Oilers in the CHL. Hamel also played
in the AHL and the ACHL between 1978 and 1985, retiring with the Carolina
Thunderbirds at the end of the 194-1985 season. His most impressive stats
come from the CHL, where he played 166 games with 61 wins and 65 losses. Toned.
