Domingo sang the part of Don Alvaro, Kabaivanska sang Donna Leonara, and Tavela was Der Pater Guardian. Domingo, a Spanish-born Mexican tenor and actor, made his debut in 1961 in Mexico as Alfredo in La Traviata. By now, Placido DOMINGOhas sung 119 different roles, more than any other tenor in the annals of music. He sings in every important opera house in the world and has made well over 100 recordings of which 97are full-length operas, often recording the same role more than once, and for which he has earned nine Grammy's and two Grammy's in the newly established Latin Division. Bulgarian soprano RainaKABAIVANSKA has performed at great opera houses around the world, from the Met to the Bolshoi, from Covent Gardens to La Scala (where she debuted in 1961). Now a professor of music in Italy, she teaches master classes for singers from around the world. She established a charitable foundation to assisted talented Bulgarian orphans. Finnish bass Martti TALVELA (1935-1989) made his operatic debut in Rigoletto (1962). He was especially renowned for his portrayal of Boris Gudunov. Lightly creased and soiled.
