Autograph Note on Picture Postcard Signed: "Yours Sincerely/Pollie Emery", B/w 3½x5½. On verso: "Dear Mr. Williams. So glad you enjoyed "Peach" & "Aunty". Yours Sincerely Pollie Emery". Pollie Emery (1875-1958) was a British actress who got her start on the stage in 1903 with her performance in the production of the musical comedy Three Little Maids. Nine years later, she performed in another production entitled The Blindness of Virtue. Four years after that, in 1916, Emery made her onscreen debut when she was cast as a widow in the short film The Persecution of Bob Pretty. Her professional film career lasted twenty-two years, during which Emery was cast in thirty titles including Watch Your Step (1920), Paradise (1928), Peg of Old Drury (1935), and the television movie Nine Till Six (1938), which was her last credited onscreen performance. Pollie Emery (also known as Polly Emery) passed away in 1958. Mounting residue on face and verso (lightly effecting signature). Corners and edges lightly worn. Toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
