Premier, 1p, 8½x11. Regina, Saskatchewan (Canada), 1972 September
6. On official letterhead to Danny Franklin, Phoenix, Arizona. In full:
"Thank you for your letter of August 15, 1972. Please accept my apologies
for the delay in replying. I appreciate your interest in the Province of
Saskatchewan and your complimentary remarks about the work of the New Democratic
Party here. The post card has been autographed as you instructed and, in
addition, a black and white photograph is enclosed. [Items not included.]
Thank you for taking the time to write to me. Yours sincerely". Blakeney was
Premier of Saskatchewan Province from 1971-1982. His New Democratic Party
lost a bid for re-election in 1982, and he retired from politics after an
unsuccessful result in the 1986 contest. He was made an officer of the Order of
Canada in 1992. Light paperclip impressions at top and bottom edges. Otherwise,
fine condition.
