Franklin, Sunnyslope, Arizona. In full: "I am signing this note in
answer to your request of August 18th. I may say that I greatly appreciate your
interest in the public affairs of Prince Edward Island. With best regards, I
remain, Sincerely". Thane Alexander Campbell (1895-1978) was Premier of
Prince Edward Island (1936-1943) and Chief Justice of the P.E.I. Supreme Court
(1943-1970). As Chief Justice, he swore his son Alexander C. Campbell into
office as Premier. In 1970, he was appointed Chief Commissioner of Canada's
newly created Foreign Claims Commission. Mailing folds, the vertical fold
crossing the first "a" in the signature. Otherwise, fine
condition.
