Land Grant signed: "Andrew Jackson" as President, 1p, 13½x9. On vellum. Washington, 1830 November 10. Document from the U.S. General Land Office attesting that Nathaniel Buckmaster, assignee of Andrew Lockhart, has deposited a Certificate of the Register of the Land Office at Edwardsville, Illinois showing full payment for 160 acres of specified land near that community and is therefore granted title to the land. Countersigned: "Elijah Hayward" as Commissioner of the General Land Office. Grantee Nathaniel Buckmaster was an architect credited with the design of several historic houses in Edwardsville. He had served briefly in the state legislature (1820). White waver seal affixed in lower left corner. Lightly soiled.
