Partly Printed Check filled out and signed: "Calvin Coolidge", 8¼x3½. Northampton, 1912 December 25. Drawn on his personal account at Hampshire County National Bank, payable to "Northampton Commercial College" for $11.60. "Calvin Coolidge/Lawyer" imprinted vertically at left. Coolidge had just entered the Massachusetts State Senate after serving as Mayor of Northampton (1910-1911). Never losing an election (except for School Committee in 1905), Coolidge served as State Senator (1912-1915), Lieutenant Governor (1916-1918), Governor (1919-1920), Vice President (1921-1923) and President (1923-1929). Lightly creased. Cancellation holes nick both "C"s of signature, bank stamp on verso lightly shows through to signature. ¼-inch tear at upper blank edge (all intact). Overall, fine condition.
