1944-1945". This region of southern England was where Allied Expeditionary Forces
trained and prepared for the assault on Europe. It was the central staging area and launch
point for "Operation Overlord", the Allied invasion of Normandy that was placed under
Eisenhower's command in January 1944 and carried out on June 6, 1944. In 1952,
Eisenhower became the fourth General elected President because of his military leadership in
wartime. Eisenhower's signature a bit light but totally legible. Frame slightly chipped along
black edge. Otherwise, fine condition. Framed in Gallery of History style: 34½x30¼.
