He inscribes and signs a printed portrait, which is also signed by the artist who drew the original for use in the 1932 Presidential campaign.
Printed Portrait inscribed and signed: "For Judge Nathan Layton/from Franklin D. Roosevelt". B/w, 11¼x15¾. Also signed: "Perskey/Copyright." in pencil. This famous image was first used in the 1932 presidential campaign. Artist JACOB PERSKEY, a close friend of Roosevelt's, drew a number of portraits, many of which were used in subsequent political campaigns. Lightly creased, chipped at upper right blank edge, ½-inch horizontal tear at upper right blank edge has been repaired on verso with tape (no show through). Light 9x¼-inch stain along bottom blank edge. ¼-inch vertical tear at bottom blank edge (all intact). Overall, fine condition.
