In 1907, as a wedding present for her son and his bride Eleanor, Sara had a house built next to her own on East 65th Street in Manhattan. FDR and Eleanor continued to live there off and on until they moved into the White House in 1933. FDR always deferred to his mother who lived in the White House as well as in Hyde Park until her death in 1941. Two items.
