Fulgencio Batista Zaldivar (1901-1973) led the coup that deposed provisional Cuban President Carlos de Céspedes y Quesada in 1933. As dictator, he controlled the government from 1933-1940, when he assumed the title of President of Cuba (1940-1944). He retired in 1944 but returned to power by an army coup in 1952. His regime was overthrown by Fidel Castro in 1959. Vertical fold runs to the left of his head. Other surface creases not visible head-on. Lightly soiled. Adequate contrast. Otherwise, fine condition.
