Price: $950.00
GEORGE BUSH
George H.W. Bush signed and inscribed a photograph of himself.
Photograph signed and calligraphically inscribed: "To Don Harris/With best wishes,/"George
Bush". Color, 8x10, image 6x7½, matted and wood-framed to an overall size of 12x14.
George Bush had, perhaps, the most impressive résumé of anyone entering the White House
when he took office as the nation's 41st President on January 20, 1989. He had been
awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and three air medals in WWII and had been a U.S.
Congressman (1967-1971), U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations (1971-1972),
Chairman of the Republican National Committee (1973-1974), first Chief of the U.S.
Liaison Office in Beijing, China (1974-1975), Director of the Central Intelligence Agency
(1976-1977) and Vice President (1981-1989). On January 20, 2001, he became only the
second President (the first was John Adams) to see his son (George W. Bush) sworn in as
President. Minor scratches to photo image, which was not examined outside frame. Frame
slightly scratched, with light, ¼-inch stain at right of lower edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
Not framed in the Gallery of History style. Not reviewed by us for conservation integrity.
