GEORGE H.W. BUSH, DAN QUAYLE and CLAYTON YEUTTER
The President and Vice President sign a Certificate of Recognition from the Republican National Committee, "For unstinting loyalty to the Republican Party and patriotic commitment to helping America remain the land of the free and home of the brave".
Document signed: "George Bush" as President of the United States, "Dan Quayle" as Vice President of the United States and "Clayton Yeutter" as Chairman, Republican National Committee, 1 page, 10x8. No place, 1991 July 22. Certificate of Recognition from the Republican National Committee, 1991-1992. The President and Vice President of the United States of America issue this Certificate of Recognition to Mr. Howard E Race "For unstinting loyalty to the Republican Party and patriotic commitment to helping America remain the land of the free and home of the brave. Signed and presented this 22nd day of July, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-One by" GEORGE HERBERT WALKER BUSH (b. 1924) was Ronald Reagan's Vice President (1981-1989) before serving as 41st U.S. President (1989-1993), the first incumbent Vice President to be elected President since 1836. Bush's distinguished resume included oil company executive, Texas Congressman, Chairman of the Republican Party, Director of Central Intelligence, Ambassador to China and Ambassador to the United Nations. As President he conducted a largely successful foreign policy, including the first Gulf War against Iraq, Operation Desert Storm, and the 1989 invasion of Panama to depose General Manuel Noriega. Public disappointment with his domestic record - a weak economy and violation of his campaign promise not to raise taxes, probably cost him a second term. His son, George W. Bush, became 43rd president in 2001 and served two terms. J. DANFORTH "DAN" QUAYLE (b. 1947) represented Indiana in the US House of Representatives (1977-1981) and Senate (1981-1989). He was elected Vice President on the Republican ticket with George Bush in 1989, but defeated for re-election. When first inaugurated, Quayle was the third youngest Vice President (after John Breckinridge and Richard Nixon). He published his memoirs in 1996 and sought the Republican Presidential nomination in 2000. CLAYTON KEITH YEUTTER (b. 1930) served as the United States Trade Representative (1985-1989) and United States Secretary of Agriculture (1989-1991). He also served as the Chairman of the Republican National Committee from 1991 to 1992. Fine condition.
