GEORGE W. BUSH
A photograph of the 43rd President of the United States George W. Bush, signed "Best Wishes George".
Photograph signed: "Best Wishes George", in black felt tip, B/w 5x7. George W. Bush, born George Walker Bush in New Haven, Connecticut in 1946, worked on his father's successful 1988 presidential campaign, before assembling the group of partners that purchased the Texas Rangers baseball franchise in 1989. He served as managing general partner of the Texas Rangers until he was elected Governor of Texas on November 8, 1994. Bush, who became the first Governor in Texas history to be elected to consecutive four-year terms when he was re-elected in 1998, resigned on December 21, 2000, having been elected 43rd President of the U.S. Reelected on November 2, 2004, Bush is the only U.S. President to be reelected after succeeding a two-term President of the opposing political party. Bush's presidential record includes the Patriot Act and other measures to combat terrorism, his "no child left behind" education reforms, the military initiatives in Iraq and Afghanistan, and major tax cuts. Historians will debate his degree of responsibility for the economic crisis which commenced in the final year of his Presidency. Authentication label affixed to lower left corner. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso, indicating that the photograph was signed on October 14, 1989 when Bush was the President of the Texas Rangers. Light smudge of the "o" in his signature. Otherwise, fine condition.
