Book Plate signed: "George W. Bush", 4½x3½. Bookplate for
Decision Points. George Walker Bush (b. 1946) worked on his
father's successful 1988 presidential campaign, before assembling the group
of partners that purchased the Texas Rangers baseball franchise in 1989.
He served as managing general partner of the Texas Rangers until he
was elected Governor of Texas on November 8, 1994. Bush, who became the
first Governor in Texas history to be elected to consecutive four-year terms
when he was re-elected in 1998, resigned on December 21, 2000, having been
elected 43rd President of the U.S. Reelected on November 2, 2004, Bush
is the only U.S. President to be reelected after succeeding a two-term President
of the opposing political party. Bush's presidential record includes the
Patriot Act and other measures to combat terrorism, his "no child left behind"
education reforms, major tax cuts, and two wars in the Middle East. He published
his Presidential memoir, Decision Points, in 2010. Fine
condition.
