Bush campaigning in New Hampshire with his father, President George H. W. Bush, with Sharon Bush shown next to the candidate; 5) newspaper photo (b/w, 4½x3), captioned in Japanese, showing former President and First Lady George and Barbara Bush with sons George W. and Neil; 6) red, white and blue campaign button (3¼-inch diameter) with inset photo of 6 Republican Presidential candidates, captioned "I was at the Republican Presidential Debate, Manchester, N.H., January 28, 2000"; 7) bumper sticker (4¼x2½), "George W. Bush for President"; and 8) another sticker (3¼-inch diameter): "Reason for Freezin'/George W. Bush." Bush is the only U.S. President to be reelected after succeeding a two-term President of the opposing political party. Most recently, he paired up with fellow former Commander-in-Chief Bill Clinton to conduct an in-depth interview with Time magazine and regarding their plans for the coming year and their take on the 2016 election. This issue of Time with Clinton and himself on the cover will be the 31st cover he has been on since June 21, 1999. Texas Governor George W. Bush suffered one of his few defeats in the New Hampshire Primary in 1980, losing to Senator John McCain. New Hampshire, long the first in the nation Presidential Primary, still holds importance out of proportion to the number of New Hampshire voters, so Presidential candidates typically enlist family members in their campaigns there. Neil and Sharon Bush, married for 20 years with three teenage children, went through an acrimonious divorce in 2003. Sharon, whose subsequent appeal to amend the divorce decree was rejected, sold off some of the souvenirs of a happier time. This collection is part of that legacy. Fine condition. Not framed in the Gallery of History style. Not reviewed by us for conservation integrity. "As is" framing purchase.
