GEORGE W. BUSH Signed cover of the November 16, 1998 issue of U.S. News & World Report Magazine Cover inscribed and signed: "to Anna/George W Bush", 7¾x10½. Front and back covers of U.S. News & World Report, 1998 November 16. Cover photo of Bush with lead story, "Can Bush Save the GOP?" Second inscription (unknown hand) in lower left corner "To Anna/Best Wishes". When this article was published, George W. Bush had just won a landslide re-election as Governor of Texas, the first Governor in that state's history to win two consecutive, 4-year terms. He was already being touted as a potential Republican candidate to recapture the White House after 8 years of President Clinton. Two years later, Bush fulfilled this promise, albeit by the narrowest of margins, defeating Vice President Al Gore, Jr. in 2000 and Senator John Kerry in 2004, winning the popular vote as well as the Electoral College tally in the latter contest. Bush is the only U.S. President to be reelected after succeeding a two-term President of the opposing political party. Most recently, he paired up with fellow former Commander-in-Chief Bill Clinton to conduct an in-depth interview with Time magazine and regarding their plans for the coming year and their take on the 2016 election. This issue of Time with Clinton and himself on the cover will be the 31st cover he has been on since June 21, 1999. Fine condition.
