PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH
He signs a 2000 pass to the garage and pits at the Daytona Speedway
Ticket signed: "George W Bush". Color, 4x7½. Pass to the garage and pits at the Daytona International Speedway during a Winston Cup Series event, June 29-July 1, 2000. The pass originally belonged to Deborah L. Martin, whose hand printed name appears. Rules for the use of the pass are printed on verso. George W. Bush, born George Walker Bush in New Haven, Connecticut in 1946, worked on his father's successful 1988 presidential campaign, before assembling the group of partners that purchased the Texas Rangers baseball franchise in 1989. He served as managing general partner of the Texas Rangers until he was elected Governor of Texas on November 8, 1994. Bush, who became the first Governor in Texas history to be elected to consecutive four-year terms when he was re-elected in 1998, resigned on December 21, 2000, having been elected 43rd President of the U.S. Reelected on November 2, 2004, Bush is the only U.S. President to be reelected after succeeding a two-term President of the opposing political party. Bush's presidential record includes the Patriot Act and other measures to combat terrorism, his "no child left behind" education reforms, and major tax cuts. This NASCAR event took place while Bush was in the midst of his first Presidential campaign, one month before he became the official Republican Party nominee. Corners lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
