Campaign. There is a blank space for the signature of the President of the
American National Red Cross. E. ROLAND "BUNNY" HARRIMAN, younger brother of
President Truman's former Secretary of Commerce W. Averill Harriman, was one
of the partners, with Prescott Bush (father and grandfather of two U.S.
Presidents) in Brown Brothers Harriman, the world's oldest and largest privately
owned bank in America. The President of the United States is the Honorary
Chairman on the American National Red Cross. HELEN HAYES, an active supporter
of the American Red Cross, even devoted an entire show, her March 28, 1943
NBC radio show she called "That They Might Live", to plea for nurses to join the
Red Cross. Founded in 1900, Helen Hayes Hospital is today the largest and most
comprehensive physical rehabilitation hospital in New York state. Just north of
New York City, it was renamed in honor of the First Lady of the American theater
and Academy Award-winning actress who devoted 49 years of voluntary leadership
and support of its mission. Fine condition.
