"Dos Recientes Discursos del Presidente de Estados Unidos de Norte America" (We Will Not Fail! "Two Recent Speeches of the President of the United States of North America"), 14 pages, 6x8½. Published for la Oficina de Asuntos Interamericanos (Office of Interamerican Affairs), Washington, (1945). The booklet was prepared as a reassurance of the smooth transition of the presidency upon the death of FDR. It holds the complete text of President Truman's speeches before a joint session of the U.S. Congress, April 16, 1945, four days after FDR died, and at the opening of the Conference of the United Nations, San Francisco, April 25, 1945. Printed photograph of Truman before microphones precedes the text. Small portion of cover in upper left missing, partial separation at mid-vertical binding. On fragile, newspaper-quality paper. Soiled, lightly creased. ¼x1¼-inch paper loss at upper left, ¼x½-inch loss at lower left. Erased notes (unknown hand) at upper right.
