Independence, Missouri, 1958 February 8. To Dwight R.G. Palmer,
Trenton, New Jersey. In full: "You are one of the most thoughtful
people I know, and I am deeply grateful to you for the kind telegram you sent me
after the Ed Murrow broadcast. I hope to see you when I am in Washington
for the dinner on the 22nd." Former president of General Cable Corp.,
DWIGHT R.G. PALMER was, at the time, New Jersey Highway Commissioner.
EDWARD R. MURROW, host of Person to Person (1953-1959),
interviewed the former President at the Truman Library on January 29, 1958. On
February 22, 1958, a dinner was given in Truman's honour in Washington, D.C.
