Original Engraved Menu and Program signed: "Herbert Hoover", "Charles G. Dawes", "R.E. Byrd", "Joseph T. Robinson" and "Curtis D. Wilbur", 6p, 6x8½, separate pages, card stock. Seventeenth Anniversary Dinner of the Paramount Famous Lasky Corporation (Paramount Pictures), held at The Carlton, Washington, 1928 May 2. There were five "Guests of Honor". Their names are listed on a page headed with the gilt Presidential seal. This page is signed next to the names listed: HERBERT HOOVER (1874-1964) as Secretary of Commerce, nominated for President six weeks later; Nobel Peace Prize winner CHARLES G. DAWES (1865-1951) as Vice President; Arkansas Senator JOSEPH T. ROBINSON (1872-1937), nominated for Vice President with Democrat Al Smith eight weeks later; CURTIS D. WILBUR (1867-1954) as Secretary of the Navy; and Admiral RICHARD E. BYRD (1888-1957), who had flown over the North Pole in 1926 and would fly over the South Pole in 1929. Four pages tied together with dark gold string. Fine condition.
