Typed Letter Signed: "Herbert Hoover", 1 page, 7¼x10½. The Waldorf-Astoria Towers, New York, 1956 April 26. To Charles R. Hook, Armco Steel Company, Middletown, Ohio, expressing his "deep appreciation for the unfailing support of the Chairman and the members of the Task Force in this great national effort...." Diagonal folds at blank upper left. Fine condition. Accompanied by and stapled to the minutes of the "Committee of Hoover Commission Task Force Members/To Assist the Congress and Executive Agencies of the Federal Government/Organization Meeting April 14, 1956", 3½p, 8½x11, identifying Hook as Chairman. Slightly shaded bottom margin. Fine condition. Hoover had served President Truman as Chairman of the Commission on Organization of the Executive Branch of the Government, popularly known as the Hoover Commission, from 1947-1949. President Eisenhower asked Hoover to organize a second Hoover Commission in 1953 and this Hoover Commission Task Force in 1956. Two items.
