In full: "I am grateful for your kind message of November 7. I deeply appreciate your good wishes, and your expression of confidence is most encouraging." On November 6, 1928, former Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover defeated New York Governor Alfred E. Smith by 21.4 million to 15.0 million popular votes, 444-87 electoral votes and 40-eight states and was elected 31st U.S. President. Lightly creased. Lower right corner missing. End flourish of signature touches horizontal fold. Overall, fine condition.
