JAMES EARL "JIMMY" CARTER (born in 1924) served as 39th U.S. President from 1977-1981. As First Lady, Mrs. Carter continued to support her main causes of mental health, the elderly and the Equal Rights Amendment. Lyndon and LADY BIRD JOHNSON had been married for 39 years and 66 days when he died in 1973. On December 22, 2005, Mrs. Johnson celebrated her 93rd birthday. Among First Ladies, only Bess Truman, who died at 97 in 1982, lived longer. As First Lady, she undertook the Beautification of America Program to clean-up and adorn America's highways and civic areas. Fine condition.
