Printed biography of Partridge on verso. ©1985, Fleetwood. JIMMY CARTER (born in 1924), the former Governor of Georgia, was 39th President of the U.S. (1977-1981). Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002. ROSALYNN CARTER, born Eleanor Rosalynn Smith in 1927, married her husband on July 7, 1946 in Plains, Georgia. Mrs. Carter took an active part in politics, and, like her husband, continues to support worldwide social programs. GERALD FORD (1913-2006), a long-time Congressman from Michigan (1949-1973) and the only man who served as both Vice President (1973-1974) and President without being elected to either office, was Carter's predecessor, serving as 38th U.S. President from 1974-1977. He holds the record as the longest-lived former U.S. President. BETTY FORD, born Elizabeth Bloomer (1918-2011), married her husband during his 1948 campaign for Congress and spent nearly 25 years as a Congressional wife before becoming First Lady. LADY BIRD JOHNSON, born Claudia Alta Taylor in 1912, married Lyndon Baines Johnson in November 1934. The mother of two daughters, she was First Lady from 1963-1969. JACQUELINE BOUVIER KENNEDY (1929-1994), the wife of President John F. Kennedy, was First Lady from 1961-1963. She married Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis in 1968. BOB DOLE (1923-2021) was a U.S. Representative from Kansas from 1961-1969 and U.S. Senator from 1969-1996. Dole was candidate for Vice President in 1976 and President in 1996. His wife, Elizabeth Hanford Dole, was elected U.S. Senator from North Carolina in 2002. Ink smudged at the upper portion of the "J" in Jimmy. Lightly soiled at upper margin and on verso, not at signature. Fine condition.
