Titled: "John Fitzgerald Kennedy/Eulogies to the Late President/Delivered in the Rotunda of/The United States Capitol/November 24, 1963". Printed by the United States Government Printing Office. Contains the eulogies given by Mike Mansfield, Senate Majority Leader, Earl Warren, Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court and John W. McCormack, Speaker of the House the day Kennedy's body was brought from the White House to the Capitol Rotunda. On the morning of November 24, a private funeral mass for Kennedy family and friends had been held in the East Room of the White House, and Jacqueline Kennedy's later appearance in the rotunda was the first time she had been seen by the public since her husband's assassination in Dallas on November 22, 1963. The day these speeches were made, Dallas nightclub owner Jack Ruby shot and killed Lee Harvey Oswald, JFK's alleged assassin. The following day, Monday, November 25, John F. Kennedy, Jr.'s third birthday, Kennedy's body was taken from the rotunda to St. Matthew's Cathedral for a funeral mass before being taken to Arlington National Cemetery for burial. Lightly creased at upper and lower right blank corners and soiled, else fine condition.
