the United Nations...." Leslie Munro (1901-1974) became the 14th
President of the United Nations General Assembly in 1957, serving until
1958. Previously in 1952 he was elected the 3rd Minister from New Zealand in
the United States (New Zealand Diplomat to the U.S.). In the New Zealand
Parliament he served as Member for Waipa (1963-1969) and as Member for Hamilton
West (1969-1972). Munro was knighted in 1955 with a KCMG, followed by a KCVO
in 1957. Lightly bowed. Fine condition.
