Inscribed Photograph Mount Signed: "Lyndon Johnson" in black ink and inscription printed: "To Brown McCallum/With best wishes"9¼x7½ image, mounted on a 12½x11¼ paper.
Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908-1973) became the 36th U.S. President (1963-1969) upon the assassination of John F. Kennedy, under whom Johnson had served as Vice President from 1961 to 1963. Johnson had previously served as a U.S. Representative (1937-1949) and U.S. Senator from Texas (1949-1960, resigning upon being elected Vice President). Johnson declined to run for a second term in 1968 due to the escalation of the Vietnam conflict. Brown McCallum (1903-1975) was a warrant officer in the US Navy who later in life worked in construction for the Seabee Company. Mounting paper lightly toned and creased. Trivial dings to edges, a few small surface impressions, a horizontal crease to center of image, and portions of the printed text missing on the mount. Pencil notations on verso (unknown hand). Otherwise, fine condition.
