Baines Johnson (1908-1973), the 36th President of the U.S. (1963-1969), had an
eventful year in 1964. He gave his "Great Society" speech, was re-elected
President with 61 percent of the vote (and the widest popular margin in American
history - 15 million votes) and was named "Time" magazine's "Person of the
Year". Before becoming President, Johnson had served as U.S. Representative from
Texas (1937-1949), U.S. Senator from Texas (1949-1961) and JFK's Vice President
(1961-1963). Fine condition.
