6½x9¼ (one surface). Nixon, depicted here standing in front of a
microphone, often spoke publicly over his long political career as U.S.
Congressman (1947-1950) and U.S. Senator (1950-1953)from
California, Vice President of the United States (1953-1961), unsuccessful
candidate for the presidency (1960) and governorship of California (1962) and
37th U.S. President (1969-1974). Nixon's "maiden" speech, on February 18, 1947,
discussed the Committee on Un-American Activities, which propelled him to
national fame. Other notable speeches include: his "Fund Crisis" speech
(also known as the "Checkers" speech), which was made on September 23, 1952
while he was a candidate for Vice President and his Watergate speech (August 15,
1973). Both of which defended his actions and asked for the support of the
American public. Lightly creased, not evident head on. Overall fine
condition..
