RONALD REAGAN
Signed movie still of the future President in his last film role, as a gangster in The Killers (1964)
Photograph signed: "Best Wishes/Ronald Reagan". B/w 10x8. Captioned movie still. The Killers (1964) was the second film version of a novel by Ernest Hemingway. Ronald Reagan gave one of the strongest performances of his career as a wealthy gangster in this film noir, originally intended for TV but re-routed to movie theaters because of its violence. It was the 53rd and last movie featuring Reagan. That same year, Reagan - once a Democrat - won notice for his effective speeches on behalf of Republican Presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. In 1966, Reagan left his job as host of television's Death Valley Days and entered the race for Governor of California. His two terms as Governor of California (1967-1975) and as President of the United States (1981-1989) are well known. Reagan, born in 1911, died in 2004. Creased, most not visible head-on. Corners creased and worn. Ink smudges at lower right margin. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
