and politician. His first movie was Love is on the Air (1937) and his 53rd and last film was
The Killers (1964). In 1965, he wrote his autobiography, Where's the Rest of Me?, a
line from his role as Drake McHugh in King's Row (1942). Reagan left his job hosting
television's Death Valley Days during the 1965-1966 season, when he entered politics. Elected
Governor of California in 1966, he was reelected in 1970. Reagan began his campaign for
the presidency and narrowly lost the 1976 Republican nomination to Gerald Ford. He was
elected President in 1980 and was reelected in 1984. After leaving office in 1989, he
wrote his second autobiography, An American Life. On February 6, 2001, Reagan
became just the third U.S. President to reach the age of 90 and the nation's longest living
President until Gerald Ford (d. 2006) lived 45 days longer. Republican EARL WARREN
(1891-1974) was California's Attorney General (1939-1943) before serving as Governor
of California from 1943-1953. Appointed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Warren
served as Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1953-1969. He was posthumously
awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1981. EDMUND GERALD "PAT"
BROWN (1905-1996) served as the Democratic Governor of California from 1959-1967.
Brown, who had previously served as California's Attorney General (1951-1959), was a
candidate for the Democratic Presidential nomination in 1960. He was the father of
EDMUND GERALD "JERRY" BROWN, JR. (born in 1938), who himself served as
Governor of California from 1975-1983. Jerry Brown, who, like his father, was a candidate
for the Democratic Presidential nomination (1976, 1980, 1992), was elected Mayor of
Oakland, California in 1999. Foiled cachet is lightly scratched. Fine condition. Framed to an
overall size of 29x25.
