RONALD REAGAN, DAN DURYEA, JANE POWELL AND JEANNE CRAIN
Ronald Reagan, Dan Duryea, Jane Powell and Jeanne Crain sign a program for the tenth anniversary of the Ice Capades of 1950
Program signed on cover: "Ronald Reagan", "Dan Duryea", "Jane/Powell" and "Jeanne Crain", 20p, 8x10½. Tenth Anniversary program, Ice Capades of 1950. Includes many pages of b/w photo reproductions of Ice Capades stars. At this date, RONALD REAGAN (1911-2004) was President of the Screen Actors Guild and a film leading man. (Two of his films, Louisa and Storm Warning, appeared in 1950). Recognition of Reagan as a potential political star - a result of his electrifying speeches for Barry Goldwater in the 1964 Presidential campaign -was still far in the future. The co-signers were major screen presences in 1950: DAN DURYEA (1907-1968) appeared in three films, including Winchester 73; JANE POWELL (b. 1928) made two, including the title role in Nancy Goes to Rio; while JEANNE CRAIN (1925-2003) nominated for a Best Actress Oscar the previous year for Pinky, made two screen appearances, including Cheaper by the Dozen. Only one staple remains, holding pages together. Otherwise, fine condition.
