Signed in facsimile by the Chairmen of the House and Senate Committees. Oval portrait of Harding in the center, flanked by engravings of the White House and the U.S. Capitol Building. President Harding had died in San Francisco on August 2, 1923, at the age of 57. Fine condition. With an original July newspaper article announcing that Harding had added two days to his California trip and that he would leave San Diego on August 6th instead of August 4th because Mrs. Harding wanted to visit Santa Catalina Island. With a typed letter on "Office of the Attorney General" stationery, 1½p, 8x10½, signed "KMC" in type, Washington, 1923 July 9. To Mr. Martin enclosing the newspaper article, noting that "Wm. Wrigley, Jr., who is to entertain the President's party at Catalina, has a country home at Pasadena, where he can take care of the General [Attorney General Daugherty] and yourself...." Worn. Three items.
