Manuscript deposition in the civil case of Eli Seigler v. W. S. Leukenbach, heard in Stark County, Ohio. McKinley signed this deposition just one year after he was admitted to the bar and almost a decade before he was elected to the United States House of Representatives! McKinley (1843-1901, born in Niles, Ohio) represented Ohio as a Republican in Congress from 1877 to 1883 and from 1885 to 1891 and served as Governor of Ohio from 1892 to 1896.
