In full: "RESOLVED: That the Session express to the Presbytery, in presenting the resolution of the congregation, their very warm admiration of the character, the gifts and the attainments of Dr. deVries, his unusual power and expository insight as a preacher, his energy and diligence as a pastor, his unremitting devotion to every part of his duty, and recognize in the most cordial manner the very substantial services he has rendered the Church. They feel that in losing him they are losing a most faithful and devoted friend and fellow laborer; that his influence has always been in the direction of the things they are purest and counsel helpful and right; that the removal of the heavy debt which rested upon the church at the beginning of his pastorate and the material improvement of the church property have been in no small measure due to his work and zeal; and that his labours have been crowned with benefits to the church which make it his permanent and grateful debtor." Woodrow Wilson was an Elder of the Presbyterian Church and had a religious upbringing. His father was Reverend Joseph Ruggles Wilson. His maternal grandfather was Reverend Thomas Woodrow. Wilson died in 1924 and is buried in the National Cathedral in Washington. Creased. Folds, vertical fold touches 1 letter in each signature.
