Typed Letter Signed: "Woodrow Wilson" as President of Princeton University, 1p, 6x8. On his Princeton stationery but written from Lyme, Connecticut, 1910 September 8. To Mr. Seidensticker. In full: "I take the liberty of troubling you with one more cheque, to be deposited to the credit of my account.: The Albany Trust Co, $95.81. Thank you for the hundred dollars in cash, which arrived safely by Express yesterday." Exactly one week later, on September 15, 1910, Wilson received the Democratic nomination for Governor of New Jersey. It was the first time he was a candidate for political office. Receipt date stamping: "SEP 9 - 1910" in lower blank area. Lightly creased. Stray ink mark below signature. Fine condition.
