Captioned: "Preston Robert Tisch/ President and Chief Operating Officer/ Loews Corporation". When they were in their early 20s, Preston R. "Bob" Tisch (1926-2005) and his brother Laurence began a lucrative partnership with the purchase of a winter resort in Lakewood, New Jersey for $375,000. Today, the holdings of Loews Corp., some $70 billion in assets and with more than $20 billion in annual revenues, include the Loews Hotels chain, Lorillard Corp., Bulova Corp., CNA Financial Corp. and Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. The billionaire brothers announced their decision to step down as Co-Executive Officers in 1998, turning the management of the company over to their sons. Robert and Laurence remained as Co-Chairmen of the Board of the company. Tisch also owned a large portion of the New York Giants NFL team and served as the United States Postmaster General from 1986 to 1988.
