3¾x6¼. Balthazar J. Vorster (1915-1983) served as the Prime Minister
of South Africa from 1966 to 1978 in a controversial tenure, known for his
support of apartheid, overseeing the trial of Nelson Mandela which gave
him his life imprisonment, and his support of pro-Nazi organizations (although
it was mostly with the intention of being anti-British). Vorster ultimately
retired from his position as Prime Minister in 1978, and was then elected
as State President, but resigned dishonorably after being implicated in the
Muldergate Scandal, which named him in the use of a fund to establish the
only English language newspaper in support of the National Party. Corners
slightly worn. Fine condition.
