Israel became independent on May 14, 1948. On that day, Ben-Gurion (1886-1973) became
the Chairman of the Provisional State Council, a post he held until May 17th, when Chaim
Weizmann became Head of the Council and Ben-Gurion became Israel's first Prime
Minister. Ben-Gurion was Israeli Prime Minister from May 17, 1948 to December 7,
1953 and from November 2, 1955 to June 21, 1963. Matted with a photograph (b/w,
10x8) of Ben-Gurion signing one of these limited edition prints and a descriptive
plaque. Fine condition. Framed to an overall size of 40½x26.
