TLS: "D. Ben-Gurion" in Hebrew as Israeli Minister of Defense, 1 page, 7x8. Jerusalem, 1955 May 11. To Teddy Kolleck, Director, Prime Minister's Office, Jerusalem. Noted that a copy was sent to Prime Minister Moshe Sharett. In full: "I was pleased to hear your idea to organize an exhibition of the accomplishments of the State in honor of its 10th anniversary. It is true that we still have a vision and we are approaching in the near future obstacles in our country but, without a vision, our people will fail. Therefore, I am pleased to be of help to you in this project." Ben-Gurion served as first Prime Minister of Israel from 1948-1953 and 1955-1963. Moshe Sharett was Prime Minister from 1953 to November 2, 1955, when Ben-Gurion returned to power. Teddy Kollek, Director of the Prime Minister's Office from 1952-1964, was Mayor of Jerusalem from 1965-1993. File holes at blank right. Folds, not at signature. Fine condition.
