The British Prime Minister signs an envelope commemorating America's
Centennial.
Commemorative Envelope signed: "Harold Wilson", 6½x3½ envelope
celebrating America's Centennial, with an ink stamp dating the envelope July 3,
1975. James Harold Wilson (1916-1995) was British Prime Minister from
1964-1970 and 1974-1976. Wilson, who entered Parliament in 1945, became a
member of the Cabinet as President of the Board of Trade (1947-1951).
During the 1950s, he was the Labour Party's spokesman for foreign affairs and
finance, although his terms as Prime Minister were hampered by financial woes.
In 1983, Wilson was made a life peer by Queen Elizabeth II and entered the
House of Lords. Fine condition.
