PRINCE ADALBERT (BAVARIA) - AUTOGRAPH SENTIMENT SIGNED - HFSID 80063
Price: $90.00
PRINCE ADALBERT (BAVARIA). Signature: "Adalbert", 3¼x2
clipped from manuscript letter between "Sincerely yours [signature] Prinz
Bayern". Affixed to irregularly cut 6x2½ sheet with pencil note (unknown hand):
"Prince Adalbert of Bavaria. Born 1944". Adalbert (b. 1945) is member of the
Wittelsbach family, which ruled Bavaria before the unification of Germany (1871)
and continued to reign with the title of King until 1918. The last king in
this line, Ludwig III, was deposed by revolution after Germany's defeat in World
War I. Many of the Wittelsbach descendants lived in exile, but Adalbert has
lived in Munich, within his family's old realm. Both sheets are lightly soiled.
Mounting sheet has file holes in lower left corner. Slightly rippled from
mounting adhesive. Additional writing on mounting sheet shows through faintly
below signature. Otherwise, fine condition.
