PSYCHO MOVIE CAST: ANTHONY PERKINS and JANET LEIGHBlack and white publicity photograph of a reproduction of a poster for the 1960 movie Psycho Photograph signed: "Anthony Perkins", in blue felt tip and "Janet Leigh", in black ink. B/w, 8x10. Reproduction of a poster for the thriller picturing director Alfred Hitchcock holding a banner proclaiming: "The Big News is that/'PSYCHO'/is Hitchcock's Greatest Chiller!" Surrounding Hitchcock is a photo montage of Perkins, Leigh and others in scenes from Psycho. Alfred Hitchcock's thriller Psycho was nominated for four 1961 Academy Awards, including one for Best Supporting Actress (for Leigh as Marion Crane) and one for Hitchcock for Best Director. The mother of actresses Kelly and Jamie Lee Curtis with former spouse Tony Curtis, JANET LEIGH (1927-2004) was one of Hollywood's biggest stars from the late 1940s into the 1960s. Best remembered for her Oscar-nominated murder victim in the shower in Psycho (1960), she also starred in such films as Little Women (1949), Scaramouche (1952), My Sister Eileen (1955), Touch of Evil (1958), and The Manchurian Candidate (1962). ANTHONY PERKINS (1932-1992) began his film career auspiciously with roles in Friendly Persuasion (Oscar nomination, 1956), Fear Strikes Out (1957) and On the Beach (1958). He won the Best Actor award at the Cannes festival for Aimez-Vous Brahms? (1961). However, his career was forever changed by his powerful performance in Hitchcock's Psycho (1960). Perkins reprised his role as Norman Bates in the less successful Psycho II (1983), Psycho III (1986) and Psycho IV (1990 on Showtime TV). Fine condition.
