Rare signature from the character actor dated 1932, signed to a fan "Most Sincerely"
Autograph note signed: "Purnell B. Pratt", in purple ink, 4¼x6. In full: "To Pearl, Most Sincerely [signature] Sept 19 34". American character actor Purnell Pratt (1885-1941) appeared in over 100 films during his almost 30 year career, appearing primarily in dramas and romances. He made his acting debut on stage, appearing on Broadway in 17 plays, with his first being A Venetian Romance in 1904. Other plays include Get-Rich-Quick Wallingford(1910), Crooked Gamblers (1920), Thumbs Down (1923), and Tenth Avenue (1927). His prolific film career includes a long line of Hollywood classic, including the original Scarface (1932). Heavily toned. Torn and creased on left edge. Edges slightly frayed. Ink notes (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
